Crochet Granny Ripple Blanket WRITTEN PATTERN
USA STITCH TERMS
You can use any yarn and hook you would like, below is what I used for my blanket.
For my blanket I used Hayfield Bonus DK with a 4mm Hook in the following shades: Ladybird, Burnt Orange, Cornfield, Turquoise, Neon Blue & Electric Pink
I used approximately 2,300 - 2,500 meters of DK weight yarn for the entire project
My blanket measures approximately 39 inches (99cm) wide by 48 inches (125cm) long

Abbreviations:
• Ch = Chain
• HDC = Half Double Crochet
• DC = Double Crochet
• St = Stitch
• Granny Cluster = 3 Double Crochet stitches into the same stitch/space.
• HDC2TG = Half Double Crochet 2 Together.
• HDC3TG = Half Double Crochet 3 Together.
Foundation: I chained 219 for my blanket
The pattern multiple is 24 plus 3 for your starting chain.
Row 1: Place a Granny Cluster into the 6th Ch from your hook.
Skip 2 Chs
Granny Cluster into the next Ch.
Skip 2 Chs
Granny Cluster into the next Ch.
Skip 2 Chs
Granny Cluster into the next Ch. Ch 2, and place another Granny Cluster in the same Ch. (This creates your peak)
** Skip 2 Chs
Granny Cluster into the next Ch.

Repeat ** across until you have 3 chains remaining. Place a DC in the last Ch.
Row 2: Ch 3, turn.
Skip first gap/space
Place Granny Cluster in the next sp (the space between two granny clusters from the previous row)
Granny Cluster in the next 2 spaces
Granny Cluster, Ch 2, Granny Cluster in the Ch 2 space from the previous Row.
**Place Granny Cluster in the next sp (the space between two granny clusters from the previous row)
Granny Cluster in the next 2 spaces
Skip over the Ch 5 space from the previous row
Place Granny Cluster in the next sp (the space between two granny clusters from the previous row)
Granny Cluster in the next 2 spaces
Granny Cluster, Ch 2, Granny Cluster in the Ch 2 space from the previous Row. **
Repeat ** across until you reach your beginning Ch from Row 1. Place a DC into that Ch space.
Change yarn colour here if you need to.
Keep Repeating Row 2 until you reach the length you desire.
Tie off, and weave in all loose ends.
Border
Row 1:
Join your yarn at the top of the stitch by your Ch 3 or DC ending stitch of your last row.
** HDC in each stitch across until you reach your Ch 2 sp. (12 HDC)
Place 2 HDC in the Ch 2 sp, Ch 2, Place 2 more HDC in the same sp.
HDC in the next 9 sts.
HDC in the next st, HDC2TG.
HDC2TG, HDC in the next st. **
Repeat ** across placing a HDC in every stitch along your last side.
Now you want to count how many stitches you have going up to your peak (ch 2 space) and how many you have going down to your valley/dip (where you place your HDC2TG)
I have 15 sts going up, and 13 going down.
We want to note this so we can be sure to do the same stitch count for the bottom section of our blanket border.
Continuing to the sides:
Place a HDC in the same stitch you placed your last HDC.
Place 2 HDC along each side space.
Bottom of blanket:
HDC in the bottom edge of your starting chain. Ch 1, HDC in same st.
3 HDC in the next Ch sp.
HDC in the bottom of granny cluster.
3 HDC in the next Ch sp.
HDC in the bottom of granny cluster.
3 HDC in the next Ch sp.
HDC in the bottom of my first granny cluster.
1 HDC in the next Ch sp, start a HDC2TG in same sp and finish in the next ch sp. 1 HDC in the ch sp you finished your HDC2TG in.

3 HDC in the next Ch sp.

In the Ch 5 sp, place 2 HDC, Ch 2, place 2 HDC in same sp.

HDC in each st across until you reach your HDC2TG valley.
HDC3TG **
Side:
HDC in the Ch 1 sp.
HDC in each stitch across.
HDC in last Ch 1 sp. Ch 1, HDC in same sp.
Sl St to starting HDC.
Tie off, and weave in all loose ends.
