Crochet Moss Stitch Chevron / Ripple Stitch WRITTEN PATTERN
USA STITCH TERMS
Hook Size(s): according to your yarn
For my sample I used King Cole Cottagespun yarn in the shade βShepherd Delightβ with a 6mm Hook
Abbreviations:
β Ch = Chain
β SC = Single Crochet
β SC2tog = Single Crochet 2 Together
β St = Stitch
β Rep = Repeat
Single Crochet 2 Together (SC2tog) Insert hook into stitch / space. Yarn over and pull back through (2 loops on your hook) insert hook into next stitch / space. Yarn over and pull back through (3 lops on your hook) Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.
Foundation Row: Ch 56 ( or any multiple of 19 plus 18).
Row 1: Starting in the second ch from the hook, [rep *1 SC, ch 1, skip 1 st* four times.
Make (1 SC, ch 2, 1 SC) for the peak.
Rep *ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 SC* four times. Skip 2 st for the valley.]
Rep from [ to ] along the length of the foundation ch to form valleys and peaks until you have 8 ch left (after making the last peak).
Rep *ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 SC* four times.
Row 2: Turn. Make SC2tog starting in the 1st st and ending in the ch 1 sp below, ch 1 and rep *1 SC in ch sp, ch 1* until you reach the ch 2 sp of the peak.
[In the ch 2 sp, make (1 SC, ch 2, 1 SC).
Rep *ch 1, 1 SC in ch sp* four times until you reach the valley of 2 SC. Skip these and make *1 SC in ch sp, ch 1* until you reach the ch 2 sp of the peak].
Rep from [ to ] along the length of the foundation ch to form valleys and peaks until you have the final side left.
Rep *ch 1, 1 SC in ch sp* three times. Ch 1 and make SC2tog starting in the last ch 1 sp and ending in the last st of the row to finish the row.
You will rep row 2 until you reach the desired size of your project.
