Linked Double Crochet Stitch WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn

For my sample I used Yarnsmiths Lagoon Chunky (shade SN020) with a 6mm hook

Abbreviations:

•           Ch = Chain

•           YO = Yarn over

•           SC2tog = Single crochet two together

•           LDC = Linked Double Crochet

•           St = Stitch

Pattern for Linked Double Crochet Stitch:

Foundation Row: Ch as wide as you want your project plus 3.

To start each row: In the second ch, insert hook, draw up a loop, in the third ch, insert hook and draw up a loop (similar to how you would start a SC2tog). YO and draw through 2 loops, YO and draw through remaining loops.

To continue each row: Make 1 LDC in each ch across. To make a Linked Double Crochet Stitch (LDC), do the following:

Step One: Locate the horizontal bar running across the previous st. Insert hook through it, YO, and draw up a loop.

Step Two: Insert hook into the next st and draw up a loop for 3 loops on the hook.

Step Three: YO and draw through 2 loops.

Step Four: YO and draw through 2 loops again to complete the st.

Row 2: Ch 3 and turn. Continue from the “to start each row” instructions.

Rep Row 2 for as long as you want your project to be.

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Weave in the ends.
