Over the last few months I have been working with Crochet Society and can now proudly announce my very first box!

It is an Exclusive Limited Edition stand alone box which means it is not part of their monthly subscription so it’s pretty special πŸ˜€

I so pleased to introduce the revamped Festival Blanket!

Watch the LIVE reveal below or keep scrolling for more pictures and box info πŸ˜€πŸ‘‡

Re-designed exclusively for Crochet Society using DK yarn means that this bad boy has 80 squares. Yep, 80!

Having the extra squares has enabled me to design a new colour pallet, 4 brand new squares, a brand new border AND a new layout all of which are EXCLUSIVE to this box.

I’m so excited to have been allowed the opportunity to revisit this blanket and give it the facelift it truly deserves, I hope you love it as much as I do! πŸ₯°

Let's first take a look at the new squares, the border and then I can dive into the yarn alongside the contents of the box

For the new squares we have a 3D Star square - made in one piece so no sewing, it's not an applique, it is crocheted together making it very safe and secure (and squishy!) This one is actually my favourite but don’t tell the other squares I said that haha!

We then have a really fun and bold chequered square, I really enjoyed putting the different colour combinations together for this one! Using colourwork it has minimal ends to weave in, the back is super neat so you cannot see any carried strands and is one of those β€œlooks super complicated but actually isn’t” wow factor squares

Next up, I have redesigned the simple black and white granny of the old and it has been replaced with a fun wiggly V Stitch square - it definitely is more interesting to make when crocheting the blanket and sits better with the fun spiral squares of my original - this was a tricksy beast to get right at the design stage so I really hope you love this fun new addition!

Last but not least, I couldn’t not design another fun 3D style flower square! I’ve gone for a smaller flower this time so it compliments the original large flower square, again, made entirely in one piece like the star square so no sewing of appliques required, super secure with lots of fun texture!

Those are the 4 new squares and of course, I had to be extra and design an entirely new border for the blanket!

A V stitch effect style border without using V stitches, it picks out the new black and white square design and ties the entire blanket together - a new colour scheme for it too so the rainbow colours of the blanket body can truly sing without being out competed by the border.

All 4 new squares and the border are exclusive to this box, they all come with written patterns (both in UK and USA terminology) and full video tutorials made by yours truly so you will have me walking you through step by step.

The video tutorials are in American stitch terms.

The new squares work perfectly with the old so if you didn’t want to follow my new layout, you can absolutely pic and mix your favourites together to come up with your own version - just be aware, the box itself, the yarn quantities etc are specific to my layout so you may have to potentially buy extra if you were free styling the blanket πŸ˜€

OK, moving onto the yarn - as I mentioned, a whole new colour pallet and a whole new yarn!

I’ve used the Crochet Society Confection DK which is a really lovely yarn. It is a 100% acrylic double knit weight yarn (which for my friends across the pond is a light, size 3 weight yarn) but what surprised me the most about this yarn is its feel.

It feels almost like a cotton blend with superb stitch definition but as it is 100% acrylic, it doesn’t have the stiffness of a cotton blend, is fully machine washable and has lovely drape.

The yarn even has super cute exclusive yarn ball bands! A gorgeous rainbow gradient to match the outside of the box and a super cute blue chequered pattern to match the inside! πŸ₯°

So what’s in the box?

In the box you get 16 balls of yarn, each ball is 100 grams in weight / 210 meters (approximately 230 yards) which is plenty to make the entire blanket.

There is also a super cute stitch smiley face stitch marker and a gorgeous polymer clay hook which couldn't BE more perfect to use when making this blanket!

You also get a fun little postcard with all the information on the back on how to access the patterns, videos and all the information to make this blanket. Top secret and for box owners only haha!

The box itself is the perfect size to store your finished blanket.

This box is a limited edition, Crochet Society exclusive which means, once it is gone, it is gone.

That's not a cheeky marketing ploy, there won’t be any β€œooh we found some more out the back you can buy teehee” shady practices, it genuinely is a limited edition run - once they have all been sold, that's it.

With free shipping to UK customers and the box being available to ship worldwide, the Early Bird pre-order discount exclusive to Hooked by Robin ends 22nd June, don't miss out!

Boxes will start shipping from August 25th, 2025
