Crochet Granny Triangle Bunting / Garland Pattern WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn

For my sample scarf pictured in this pattern, I used Ice Mona Lisa 100% Cotton with 4mm crochet hook.

Abbreviations:

  • Ch = Chain

  • DC = Double crochet

  • Rep = Repeat

  • St = Stitch

  • Ch sp = Chain space

  • Sl st = Slip stitch

Pattern for Bunting:

Foundation Row: Ch 21.

Row 1: Starting in the fourth ch from the hook, make 2 DC and rep *ch 1, skip 1 st, 3 DC* across. (5 clusters)

Row 2: Turn and make 4 sl st. Ch 3 and make 2 DC in the same ch sp. Ch 1 and in each ch sp across, make (3 DC, ch 1). You will leave the last 3 st unworked. (4 clusters)

Row 3: Turn and make 4 sl st. Ch 3 and make 2 DC in the same ch sp. Ch 1 and in each ch sp across, make (3 DC, ch 1). You will leave the last 3 st unworked. (3 clusters)

Row 4: Turn and make 4 sl st. Ch 3 and make 2 DC in the same ch sp. Ch 1 and in each ch sp across, make (3 DC, ch 1). You will leave the last 3 st unworked. (2 clusters)

Row 5: Turn and make 4 sl st. Ch 3 and make 2 DC in the same ch sp. You will leave the last 3 st unworked. (1 cluster)

Row 6: Turn and make 2 sl st. Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail to be a part of the tassel.

For the tassel, cut a strip of yarn twice the length of the tail you left at the end of the bunting. Attach this strip to a yarn needle and pull it through the last st of the bunting so that all the yarn tails are in one space. Grab a bead and thread all three ends through it. Tie a loose knot below the bead and trim the access yarn of the tails.

To join the bunting triangles, ch 10 and sl st to the first ch to form a loop (this is what you will use to attach the bunting to the wall). Ch 15 (this will be the space between the first triangle and the loop) and SC in each st of the top of a bunting triangle. Once the first triangle is attached, ch 5 (this will be the space between the triangles) and rep. Once youโ€™ve attached all your triangles, ch 25 and sl st into the tenth ch to form the second loop.

Fasten off and cut your yarn.

If you spot any errors in the written pattern please do let me know.

Happy Crocheting!
