Crochet Puff Stitch Square WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

You can use any yarn and hook you would like.

Hook Size(s): Use a slightly larger hook size than your yarn recommends.

I used Pastel Yarn: Papatya Batik with a 4.5mm Hook Rainbow Yarn: Stylecraft Wondersoft Merry Go Round (shade "Starburst") with a 4.5mm Hook.

Abbreviations:

• Ch = Chain

• DC= Double Crochet

• TR= Treble Crochet

• St = Stitch

• Sl St = Slip Stitch

• Puff Stitch = * YO hook, insert into sp, draw up a loop * repeat 3 more times. You will have a total of 7 loops on your hook. YO and pull through first 6 loops. 2 loops left, YO and pull through last 2 loops.

• Starting Puff Stitch = YO hook, insert into stitch, draw up a loop, YO hook, insert into same stitch, draw up a loop. With 5 loops on hook, YO and pull through first 4 loops. 2 loops left, YO and pull through last 2 loops.

Foundation Ring: Ch 2, Create starting puff stitch in ring.

* Ch 2, Puff Stitch into ring. * Repeat 6 more times for a total of 8 puff stitches (including starting puff)

Sl st into the first Ch 2.

Round 2: Ch 2, Create starting puff stitch in first Ch 2 sp from previous round.

Ch 1, puff stitch into the same Ch 2 sp.

Ch 3, puff stitch into the same Ch 2 sp.

Ch 1, puff stitch into the same Ch 2 sp.

This creates your first corner. (2 puff stitches, ch 3, 2 puff stitches)

Ch 1, puff stitch into next Ch 2 sp.

Keep repeating Row 3 until you reach the square size you desire.

Once you reach the size you like, tie off and weave in your ends.
