Crochet Prairie Stitch [Free Video Tutorial & Written Pattern!]
Learn how to crochet the Prairie stitch which is super easy and very pretty!
Made from a combination of half double and single crochet stitches, it works up quickly with a very simple 2 row repeat - perfect for scarves, blankets or wearables!

Crochet Prairie Stitch WRITTEN PATTERN
USA STITCH TERMS
Hook Size(s): according to your yarn
For my sample I used Yarnsmiths Merino with a 5mm Hook
Abbreviations:
โ Ch = Chain
โ SC = Single Crochet
โ HDC = Half Double Crochet
โ St = Stitch
โ Rep = Repeat
Foundation Row: Make any multiple of 2 to define the width of your project.
Row 1: Starting in the second ch from the hook, make 1 SC in each ch across.
Row 2: Ch 2 and turn. Rep *skip 1 st, 2HDC in next* across the row.
In the last st of the row, make 1 HDC.
Row 3: Ch 1 and turn. Make 1 SC in each st across.
Rows 4-onward: Rep rows 2 and 3 for as long as you want your project to be.
Fasten off and cut the yarn.
