Crochet Jewelspun Wrap

Abbreviations:

FDC - Foundation Double Crochet Stitches

ch - Chain

dc - Double Crochet

sc- Single Crochet

SPECIAL STITCHES

“Cluster” - TR3TOG

Yarn over twice, insert hook into space, yarn over (4 loops on hook) yarn over, pull through 2, yarn over pull through 2 (2 loops on hook). Yarn over twice, insert hook into space, yarn over (5 loops on hook) yarn over, pull through 2, yarn over, pull through 2 (3 loops on hook). Yarn over twice, insert hook into space, yarn over (6 loops on hook) yarn over, pull through 2, yarn over, pull through 2 (4 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops to complete TR3TOG Cluster.

PATTERN MULTIPLE IS BASED ON FDC STITCHES.

Crochet Jewelspun Wrap WRITTEN PATTERN

Pattern Multiple: 15FDC + 1FDC

Repeat the pattern between the asterisks * ….. *

Work stitches in [ …. ] into same space

Pattern is worked in rows so TURN at end of each row

1. 61 FDC.

2. Ch5 (counts as dc + ch2), turn, skip 2 stitches, dc in next.

   *ch2, skip 2, dc* to end.

3. ch1, turn, sc in same stitch, 2sc into next ch2 space.

   * ch4, skip next ch2 space, [cluster, ch5, cluster] in ch2 space, ch4, skip next ch2 space, 2sc in next ch2 space, sc in the dc, 2sc in next ch2 space*

   to end - ending row on 2sc in end ch space and 1sc in top of turning chain.

4. ch1, turn, sc in same stitch, sc in next. * ch5, skip ch4 space, [cluster, ch5, cluster, ch5, cluster, ch5, cluster, ch5] in ch5 space, skip ch4 space, skip 1st sc of row below and work sc into the 2nd, sc in next 2 stitches*

   to end - ending on sc into the last 2 stitches.

5. ch5, turn. * skip ch5 space, [cluster, ch5, cluster, ch5] in next ch5 space, [cluster, ch5, cluster, ch5, cluster, ch5] in next ch5 space, [cluster, ch5, cluster, ch5] in next ch5 space, skip next ch5 space, skip 1st sc of row below and work sc into the 2nd, sc in next, ch5*

   to end - ending on 1sc.

   Ch1, cut yarn and WEIGH YOUR CROCHET - this way you will know how much yarn to save to repeat floral border at the other end of your wrap.

   FLORAL EDGE COMPLETE. On to the body of the wrap!

6. Now we will be reattaching your yarn to the underside of your floral border so flip your work upside down and rejoin yarn at opposite end to tail from FDC’s.

   To keep the edges of the wrap straight, we will be starting each row with a stacked stitch to simulate a dc stitch.

   *sc in 1st stitch, then work another sc on top by inserting hook under the front loop and vertical bar of sc just made. Pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through to complete second sc on top of first. Stacked stitch complete. Work a dc into remaining 60 stitches.* 61 stitches total.

7. Turn your work, make stacked stitch in 1st, dc in next to end. 61 stitches total.

   I worked 154 total rows of dc for my wrap (rows 6 - 154) - you are free to make your wrap shorter if required.

   Once your wrap has reached the desired length, repeat Rows 2 - 5 to complete floral second edge. Once you have finished your second floral edge, ch 1, cut your yarn and weave in your ends!

My finished wrap measurements using 2 balls of Jewelspun with a 5mm Hook :

17 inches wide, nearly 2 meters (6ft 7”) long!
