Crochet Eyelet Triangle Shawl

Learn how to Crochet this Easy Eyelet Triangle Shawl! With a simple TWO row repeat, it is quick to work up. Great for last minute gifts!

In the video I show you step by step how to crochet the shawl and how to crochet the beautiful triangle picot border. The written pattern is below :-)

Crochet Eyelet Triangle Shawl Written Pattern USA STITCH TERMS

For my shawl I used: Ice Yarn Cotton Cakes in the colourway "Rainbow" with a 4.5mm Hook

Abbreviations:

MR = Magic Ring

Ch = Chain

Ch sp = Chain space

SC = Single crochet

DC = Double crochet

Rep = Repeat

St = Stitch

Sk = Skip

Special Stitch(es):

Picot = chain 3, slip stitch back into the base of the chain 3 via the front of stitch that you originally chained 3 from. - please see video for clarification

Repeat the pattern between the asterisk * …. *

Work all the stitches within [ …. ] into the same place

  1. MR, Ch3, 6DC

  2. Ch5 (counts as DC + ch2), turn, DC into same st. Ch2, sk 2 st, [DC, Ch4, DC] in next st, ch2, sk2

    End on [DC, Ch2. DC] in top of last st

  3. Ch3 (counts as DC), turn, DC in same st. *2DC in ch2 sp, DC in next st* then [2DC, CH2, 2DC] in ch4 sp (this forms the central spine of your shawl) *DC in next st, 2DC in ch2 sp*

    End on 2DC into 3rd ch of turning chain from row below

  4. Ch5 (counts as DC + Ch2), turn, DC into same st *ch2, sk 2 st, DC in next st* then [Ch2, DC, Ch4, DC, Ch2] in ch2 sp of the “spine” then *DC in next st, ch2, sk 2st*

    End on [DC, Ch2, DC] in top of turning chain from row below

Repeat Rows 3 & 4 until shawl is desired size


TRIANGLE PICOT BORDER - create along 2 triangular sides either side of the central spine

  1. Ch3, turn, [2DC, picot, 3DC] in same sp. *SC in next sp, [3DC, Picot, 3DC] in next*
