Crochet Bean Stitch Scarf WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn

For my personal scarf, I used 2 x Balls of Lion Brand Scarfie Lite in the colour “Seaglass” with a 6mm Hook

Abbreviations:

·       Ch = Chain

·       Rep = Repeat

·       B-st = Bean stitch

·       St = Stitch

·       YO = Yarn Over

Special Stitches = Bean Stitch: Insert hook in st, YO, pull through, YO, insert hook in st, YO, pull through, YO, insert hook in st, YO, pull through, YO, pull through all 6 loops on the hook, and ch 1.

Foundation Row: Ch 21 (or any odd number if you wish to alter the width of your scarf)

Row 1: Starting in the third ch from the hook, rep *1 B-st, skip 1 ch* across.

Row 2: Ch 1 and turn. Make 1 B-st in the side of each B-st of the previous row. To determine the side, you will see that there is a small triangluar shaped gap if you slightly pull your bean apart. Work the B-st into that space. (please see video if unsure)

Rows 3-onward: Rep row 2 for as long as you’d like your project to be. There should be the same number of B-st in each row.

Tie off, and weave in any loose ends.

If you spot any errors in the written pattern please do let me know.

Happy Crocheting!
