Crochet Sieve Stitch [Free Video Tutorial & Written Pattern!]

Crochet Sieve Stitch WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn

For my sample in the photos, I used Lion Brand Landscapes yarn with a 6mm Hook.

Abbreviations:

  • Ch = Chain

  • SC = Single crochet

  • Rep = Repeat

  • St = Stitch



Sieve Stitch

Pattern multiple: 2 (any even number)


Foundation: Create your desired chain length

SC into the 2nd Ch from your hook.

SC into each ch across.


Row 2: Ch1. Turn work. (ch1 does not count as a st)

SC into the first st.

* Ch1, skip a st, SC into the next. *

Repeat * * until end of row.



Row 3: Ch1. Turn work. (ch1 does not count as a st)

*Place 2 SC into each Ch 1 space from the row below. *

Repeat * * across.

End with a SC in the last st.



Keep repeating Rows 2 and 3 until you reach the length you desire.


Tie off, and weave in any loose ends.
