Crochet Scallop Edge Scarf WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn or increase the hook size by at least 1mm for better drape

For my scarf I used 1 x 150g Ball of James Brett Emotions (shade Serenity) with a 5.5mm Hook

My personal scarf measures approximately 7 inches (18cm) wide and 80 inches ( 203cm) in length

Abbreviations:

●        Ch = Chain

●        Ch sp = Chain space

●        SC = Single crochet

●        DC = Double crochet

●        Inc = Increase

●        Rep = Repeat

●        St = Stitch

Pattern for Scarf:

Foundation Row: Ch 36 (multiples of 4). This determines the width of your scarf.

Row 1: Starting in the third ch from the hook, rep [2DC inc, ch 2, 1 SC, skip 2 ch] across.

You’ll be ending the row on a SC. (6 scallops)

Turn the work 180 degrees so that you are now working on the other side of the foundation row.

Row 2: In each of the skipped 2 ch of the previous row, make [1 SC, ch 2, 2 DC] across. These form scallops.

To ensure you have the same number of scallops as Row 1, make [1 SC, ch 2, 2 DC] in the base ch of the 2DC inc which you started Row 1 with.

Turn. (6 scallops)

Row 3: Make 2 sl st to reach the ch 2 sp.

Ch 2 and make [1 DC, ch 2, 1 SC] in the same space. In each ch 2 sp across, make [2 DC, ch 2, 1 SC]. (6 scallops)

Rows 4-onward: Ch 2 and turn.

In each ch 2 sp across, make [2 DC, ch 2, 1 SC]. (6 scallops)

Rep Row 4 until you reach the desired length of your scarf.

Fasten off and cut the yarn.
