Crochet Bobble Stitch Written Pattern

Learn how to Crochet the Bobble Stitch! One of my favourite stitches, fun texture on the front yet flat on the back making it the perfect stitch for crochet blankets!

WRITTEN PATTERN

Abbreviations:

ch = chain

sp = space

sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet

SPECIAL STITCHES

DC5TOG “Bobble” = yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw loop back through stitch, yarn over pull through 2 loops then STOP. You will have a half completed dc hanging from your hook. Repeat the steps 4 more times until you have 5 half completed dc stitches hanging from your hook and 6 loops ON your hook. Yarn over and draw through all 6 loops to complete your bobble.

Repeat the pattern between the asterisk * …. *

PATTERN MULTIPLE = 4 + 3

Any yarn, any hook size

For colour changes: on the final stitch of your row, stop before the final yarn over and place new colour on hook, draw new colour through last 2 loops of stitch. (please see video)

To start, chain any multiple of 4 + 3.

1. dc into the 4th ch from the hook and in each chain until end.

2. ch1, turn. sc into the same stitch, sc in the next. *Bobble in next, sc in next 3 stitches* ending on sc in the last 2 stitches

3. ch2 (does not count as a stitch), turn. dc in same place and each stitch across

4. ch1, turn. sc into the same stitch, sc in the next 3 stitches. *Bobble in next, sc in next 3 stitches* ending on sc in the last 4 stitches

5. ch2 (does not count as a stitch), turn. dc in same place and each stitch across

REPEAT ROWS 2 - 5 FOR PATTERN

To end after final stitch of your project: ch1, cut your yarn (leaving a decent tail for weaving in) pull tail through ch, pull tight and weave in ends.
